Ikuo Maeda, Mazda's design overlord, designed the soon-to-be-Stateside Mazda2. He also penned the Mazda RX-8, following quite literally the path his father laid before him: Maeda's father created the original Mazda RX-7. Now Maeda wants to bring the RX-7 back to life, saying "I do have a strong yearning to revive the RX-7 during my tenure."

GQ, the UK's leading monthly men's magazine, certainly knows a thing or two about the fashionable gentleman. And judging by the GQbyCITROËN concept, the fashionable fellas know a few things about svelte car design, as well. The GQbyCITROËN concept is a collaboration between Dylan Jones, GQ's editor, and Mark Lloyd, a British designer who is most recently credited for the new Citroën DS3. We must say, we're very attracted to it. Makes sense, then, that GQ and Citroën are branding this concept as "the ultimate gentleman's drive."

We got our first peek at Abt's R8 GTR late last year, but like with many cars, it was a whole different experience to see it in person. To say carbon fiber has been used liberally is an understatement, as the entire car is clothed in the lightweight material. The look suits the R8, and Abt has managed to give the car a more aggressive look without going overboard. The interior is lathered in carbon fiber as well, and lightweight Recaro racing seats help reduce weight even further. In total, Abt has managed to take 220 pounds off the R8's heft.

When we first saw the Peugeot SR1 Concept, we were less than impressed. Why? The press photos just didn't do the car any justice. But here in person at the Geneva Motor Show, the SR1 Concept has us drooling. First of all, the proportions are spectacular. Long hood, short deck, wide, low – just a great, potent stance coupled to classic proportions. Also, this here Peugeot is one of the rare convertibles that looks just as good top on or off.

It may not be an earth-shattering revelation or anything – Ford's own Jost Capito said about as much a couple weeks back – but Ford has reportedly confirmed at the Geneva Motor Show that it is merging its European and American high-performance divisions into one unit. First up on The Blue Oval's hi-po radar will be a hotted-up version of the new next-gen Focus.
